South Perthshire Community Policing – September 2026
Hello all,
An update for you all on what we have had going on in September. As previously mentioned, neighbourhood alerts is a good way for me to reach out to the community so feel free to get in touch with any concerns or issues. So what has been going on? - We were out on patrols for Braemar day in Blairgowrie and had a go on some atlas stones – my back is still in one piece thankfully. - Pauline and I were deployed for St Johnstone vs Hibernian at McDiarmid park which saw some disorder. - We held a meeting with Community Enterprise Scotland to provide our perspective on the local area. - We were welcomed into Comrie’s Rainbow group where we able to explain our role as police and how we can help people. The kids had a shot of our gear and had fun in the car playing with the sirens. - Throughout September we’ve held activities with pupils from Crieff High School as part of our Pitchin in Program in collaboration with St Johnstone and Saints in the Community. This is a diversionary program where we gave inputs to the pupils and played football with them. The final day saw the kids attend at McDiarmid Park where they were given a tour of the grounds, went through what a football deployment involves for police officers and finally had a football session with coaches from Saints in the Community. The pupils really impressed us with their attentiveness and overall attitude so major thanks to them as well as to Saints in the Community, St Johnstone FC and staff at Crieff High School. - In terms of training, Pauline and I completed our annual operational safety training which includes first aid. I also completed an annual Taser refresher course. Pauline is currently on a 5 day Wildlife Crime Investigators Course which will see us improve our capabilities in this area. - Throughout September we’ve also continued responding to multiple calls for Police and we’ve been out on foot patrol / monitoring traffic issues at known hotspots. - We’ve also been continuing investigations into the highest tariff offenders in our area which has resulted in multiple charges being libelled / reports submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. If you have any questions or anything you’d like to report please consider: Contacting us via Police Scotland Contact Us online Contact Us form | Police Scotland Or via 101 Or via Crimestoppers What is the crime or incident? | Crimestoppers Thanks, PCs Ali Bloomer and Pauline Smart 32 James Square, Crieff PH7 3EY TaysideCommunityPolicePerthandKinross@scotland.police.uk | ||
